SCAI Statement on CMS National Coverage Determination for Percutaneous Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion Therapy

Yesterday, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released its National Coverage Determination (NCD) for percutaneous left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) therapy, adopting several of the recommended changes that the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) and other societies made on the draft in a public comment letter in December.
